Pennsylvania AIDS Walk Collected $24,563 for AgenciesNovember 21, 2001 Lehigh Valley AIDSWalk organizers announced recently that the Oct. 7 event collected $24,563 this year. In 10 years, the walk has raised $321,000, of which $263,000 went to programs and services for persons living with HIV and AIDS. Checks were awarded to six community groups providing direct services for people with AIDS: Advocates for Healthy Children; AIDS Service Center; Council of Spanish Speaking Organizations Latino Outreach Program; Latinos for Health Communities; Lehigh County Conference of Churches Daybreak Program; and New Directions Treatment Center.
