In Rhode Island, World AIDS Day Targets Young People

November 26, 2001

A rally Friday at the Providence, R.I. State House will kick off the 14th annual World AIDS day events. AIDS Project Rhode Island and the State Department of Health are sponsoring the events, which will run through Dec. 15. The focus of the program this year is young people, because half of those newly infected with HIV in the United States are younger than 25, according to AIDS Project Rhode Island.
