Japan Extends $200,000 for HIV/AIDS Prevention in CambodiaNovember 8, 2001 Japan on Wednesday provided some $200,000 in assistance to a the Khmer HIV/AIDS NGO Alliance (KHANA), a Cambodian nongovernmental organization working to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS. Norio Matsuda, resident representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Cambodia, said the funds are aimed at implementing a JICA-KHANA project to strengthen local NGOs' organizational and financial management and technical capacities, thus enabling them to enhance the quality and expand the geographical coverage of their services.
