Atlanta AIDS 10K Walk Pulls More Than $1 Million

October 15, 2001

On Sunday, thousands of walkers turned out for the annual AIDS Walk Atlanta. The walk raised more than $1 million, according to organizers, and will benefit AID Atlanta and 14 other metro area AIDS service and education providers. Last year, the event raised $1.4 million. "I don't think we could have picked a more difficult economic environment," said Tony Braswell, executive director of AID Atlanta.
