October 25, 2001

The US-based vaccine firm VaxGen signed a 10-year factory site lease with the Inchon city government for a 3.3 square meters-facility in Songdo. The company plans to build production facilities as well as a research center. VaxGen is due to complete development and clinical tests for its AIDS vaccine, AIDSVAX, by 2005. Construction is due to begin in the second quarter next year.
