Mississippi: AIDS Network Holds Fund-Raising Walk

October 3, 2002

The Mississippi Black AIDS Network will sponsor a walk Saturday in Jackson to raise money for HIV-positive children and to promote awareness of AIDS. Last year, about 100 people participated in the HIV/AIDS Walk-a-Thon and raised about $800, said Anthony Fox, MBAN's president. HIV testing will be provided by the state Department of Health at a mobile health trailer at Jackson State University before the walk, Fox said. The walk will start at the Walter Payton Memorial at 8:30 a.m. and end at Smith Park. For more information, telephone 601-979-4100.
