AIDS Agency Cuts Staff After Donation DropSeptember 20, 2001 The Lifelong AIDS Alliance has cut 14 staff positions and slashed its budget by more than $600,000 because of decreased donations and a slowing economy. The non-profit agency provides support services to people affected by HIV and AIDS. The alliance has seen both individual giving and special-events attendance drop significantly in the last year, but expects to remain in operation. "Non-profits are not immune to the impacts of an awful economy," executive director Chuck Kuehn said.
