Pop NotesSeptember 26, 2001 Plans for the funds raised by a new recording of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" have changed in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 attack on the United States. The project, organized by U2 singer Bono and Jermaine Dupri, was originally slated to raise money for African AIDS education. Its proceeds will now be split between that cause and the September 11 Fund. Stars performing on the single include Bono, No Doubt's Gwen Stefani, Staind's Aaron Lewis, R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe, Alicia Keys, 'N Sync, Nelly, Ja Rule, Eve, Lil' Kim, Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst and Nelly Furtado.
