HIV/AIDS Research Center Operational in ShanghaiSeptember 28, 2001 A HIV/AIDS research center went into operation recently in Shanghai. Specialists both from home and abroad are invited to participate in the center's academic research efforts and application of new technologies and methods to combat the disease. Statistics show that Shanghai now has some 390 people who are HIV-positive, including 48 AIDS patients.
