2006 Price Fellowships for HIV Prevention Program

February 13, 2006

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the CDC Foundation announce the 2006 Price Fellowships for HIV Prevention program. The Price Fellowships program offers the opportunity to three individuals from community-based and/or non-governmental organizations (CBO/NGOs), committed to preventing HIV infection, to work closely for one month with health professionals at CDC.

Recognizing the vital contributions of CBOs/NGOs and their role as partners in a national HIV/AIDS prevention strategy, the Price Fellowships for HIV Prevention is designed to:

  1. provide CDC with expertise and different perspectives about the prevention activities, organizational structure and capacity, and experiences of CBOs/NGOs;

  2. provide three CBO/NGO representatives an opportunity to;

    1. complete a self-directed project relevant to a specified area of HIV prevention

    2. learn more about HIV prevention at the national level;

  3. facilitate an exchange about important HIV/AIDS prevention issues between three CBO representatives and CDC personnel, state and local health department representatives, and other CBO leaders in the United States.

Individuals meeting the following criteria are encouraged to apply:
