Howie Odden,
a Certified Fundraising Executive, joined Compassion in July as Director of Development. He has a proven track record in capital campaigns and development of a major gift program. Compassion's mission complements his personal philosophy of pursuing experiences that enhance the meaning and quality of life. He looks forward to meeting the people already in Compassion's circle of friends, and bringing new people to our mission. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Minnesota, Master of Arts in Executive Development from Indiana University, and certification in revenue management from Colorado University. Claire Simons spent seven years in television production in New York and Los Angeles, then founded her own company to provide public relations, marketing, and event planning. For eight years she worked with non-profits, entrepreneurs and corporations on media coverage, product-placement and sales. As Public Relations Chair for the League of Women Voters she worked to increase voter registration in San Diego. Claire has attended the deaths of many loved ones, and understands the service of being present. She was honored to join Compassion in April as Communications Coordinator.
