Compassion Welcomes Two New Employees

Janis J. Nichols joined Compassion In Dying as the new director of development. She will focus on increasing financial support and building Compassion's donor base.

Prior to this appointment she was director of public relations at Portland State University and served as associate director of development at Southern Oregon University. She has extensive experience in fund raising and public relations.

Janis currently serves on the Metro Board of the American Cancer Society and is vice president of the board of Oregon Literacy, Inc.

Sarah Stebbins, Ph.D., is a recent addition to the Federation, replacing Amy Wolfe as director of affiliate development on March 1. Sarah's top priority will be helping the existing affiliates strengthen their organizations. She will also be establishing new affiliates as time and resources permit.

Her areas of expertise include fund raising, leadership development, community organizing, training design/delivery and group facilitation.
