Dr. Dobkin received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He then left Cambridge and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Hospital and his fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
Dr. Dobkin has served as the Principal Investigator of the Columbia-Presbyterian AIDS Clinical Trials Unit since 1992. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Infectious Diseases Society of America. He is the contributing editor of the monthly feature, "The AIDS Bulletin," for Infections in Medicine. He has been author or co-author on many articles in leading clinical journals, American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, among others. He recently completed an interactive videodisk curricula for nursing and medical students on AIDS care produced with the Interactive Media Laboratory at Dartmouth Medical School.
