This Congress addressed therapeutic research and treatment of HIV/AIDS, providing clinicians with current information and allowing researchers to keep abreast of emerging issues across the globe. For a PDF of the program, click here. Or visit their Web site.

Although there are important ongoing studies on therapeutic drug monitoring, it's still not used in the U.S. A group of experts has developed a list of key concepts regarding the use of therapeutic drug monitoring in routine HIV management, Dr. Jonathan Schapiro reports.

Many patients may opt for an unstructured treatment interruption, and the dangers of this must be made clear to all patients. The only place for structured treatment interruptions at present is in the context of clinical trial. Dr. Simon D. Portsmouth reports from Glasgow.
