The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) is an organization of
physicians, scientists, and other health care professionals dedicated to the promotion and recognition of excellence in research, patient care, public health, disease prevention, and education in the field of infectious diseases. The Society pursues and represents the concerns of its membership by its organizational structure, journals, meetings, and additional activities.
IDSA's 37th annual meeting will be held November 18-21, 1999 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. This meeting features invited scientific presentations of twenty symposia, four plenary sessions, twenty meet-the-professor sessions (over a period of three days), three interactive case-based sessions, original slide and poster presentations of new data, and late breakers which consist of important preliminary research findings.
