Fund-raising OpportunitySummer 1998 A unique fund-raiser that enables AIDS organizations to raise money. The program started in early 1996 and has proven to be very successful for over two years. Many local AIDS organizations all over the country are participating for their third year in a row, and it's time that we spread the word even further. The Program is based on a set of "Commemorative Holiday Ornaments" that AIDS/HIV agencies can offer for sale throughout their communities as a fund-raiser. The theme of each ornament design reflects the spiritual journey experienced by those who are affected by AIDS, and each one incorporates a red ribbon to symbolize the universality of the fight against this terrible disease. Every year a new ornament design is introduced, and past designs have included such themes a "Light of Hope", "Dove of Peace" and "Angel of Love". One of the major "bonuses" of the program is that it promotes awareness of the work your organization is doing within your community. Each ornament comes with a detailed gift card that is personalizes with specific information about your organization and the work you do. It is really a great way to make positive impact on your community and improve your local image. The ornaments are extremely beautiful, and participating agencies have been proud to promote them as symbols of the importance of the battle against AIDS.
