A number of new drugs from existing classes are being studied. Here's a brief rundown of drugs that have started trials in people:

Nucleoside Analog Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors (NRTIs)

Non-Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors (NNRTIs)

Protease Inhibitors (PIs)
