Summer 1999 Program overviewCoordinate a multi-site clinical trial Patient Support & Education Program. Provide women with HIV/AIDS and their families with all of the available information on treatments, clinical trials, and support services (achieved through training of site coordinators/advocates). Help women to make fully informed decisions on what treatment strategy will be the most appropriate and effective. Assist with accrual and retention of participants in the W.A.R.P. clinical trials. Position descriptionCoordinate 12 sites throughout the nation. Develop and implement a training program for trial site advocates. Act as an advocate for HIV infected women who are enrolled in the WARP AIDS Clinical Trials to make sure that they understand and the informed consent, receive appropriate medical care, HIV treatments, and services. Educate positive women about the identified pros and cons of participation in a research project. Promote early intervention and treatment access for women with HIV/AIDS. Serve as a link between all 12 site coordinators, and responsible for overall coordination. Responsibilities
