I've Looked at Clouds From Both Sides NowSeptember/October, 1999 After the rancor among treatment activists hit a new nadir and finally burnt this writer/editor out, I took refuge (a job) with Vertex Pharmaceuticals, the company that discovered and comarkets amprenavir. While I liked and respected my coworkers, I resigned the position only a few months later. Why? We had our disagreements but it was mostly because I realized I was just too dour for the job. A skeptic at heart, I always think the glass is half empty. Better order another.
