Jeffrey

By Terry Catalano

December 1999

It's too late to tell you tales
of summers long ago,
of poety exposed.
Of friendship,
romances
and struggles day to day.
With thoughts of our own power
and angels all around.
Your journey's new beginning
with wings still to grow.
You are now a part of everything,
even part of me
and in the flowers
that smile in the wind.
A gentle wave of the sea,
a kiss of the breeze.
Go, explore
the world we've yet to see.

June 1997
Dedicated to the passing of all the Jeffreys in the world
