Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

  • The FDA reported on their approval of the 200th antiretroviral drug application, which included 30 solid formulations specific for children, under PEPFAR.

Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)

  • HRSA's HIV/AIDS Bureau today released its third annual publication of national Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) client-level data collected through the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Services Report (RSR).

  • The U.S. Military HIV Research Program (MHRP) at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) acknowledged its network of strong, lasting domestic and international partnerships in the fight against HIV.

  • The Offices of Special Needs Assistance Programs (SNAPS) and HIV/AIDS Housing (OHH) highlighted how critical safe, stable housing is for the health and well-being of PLWHA.

From the Department of Justice

  • The Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division reiterated its commitment to eradicating stigma and discrimination against PLWHA and reported on recent enforcement efforts.

From the Department of Labor

  • The Department of Labor's Office of Disability and Employment Policy continued the conversation about employment opportunities for PLWHA.

From the Department of State

  • Ambassador Deborah L. Birx, U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator and U.S. Special Representative for Global Health Diplomacy at the U.S. Department of State, explained the U.S. Government theme for the observance in Looking Ahead to World AIDS Day 2017.
  • The U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) released new results that show that the program has reached historic highs through its rapid acceleration of HIV prevention and treatment efforts, driven by transparent, accountable, and cost-effective investments.
  • USAID'S Office of HIV/AIDS Research described their top 10 accomplishments in 2017.

From the Department of Veterans Affairs

  • This World AIDS Day, the VA encouraged Veterans to talk to their providers about their HIV status and to get tested.
