People Living With HIV Over 40: Share Your Experiences in a Survey

August 22, 2013

If you have any clients/friends who are over 40 and living with HIV and would be interested in taking about 10 minutes to fill out a survey sharing their experiences, I would greatly appreciate your help. I will be presenting a workshop on Aging and HIV/AIDS at the United States Conference on AIDS in New Orleans in September along with fellow TheBody.com forum expert Ben Young, M.D., Ph.D. (International Association of Providers of AIDS Care).

While Dr. Young is giving the medical perspective on HIV and aging, I am presenting the personal side. I have been living with HIV for almost 22 years and am 48. By 2016, experts estimate that more than 50 percent of those of us living with HIV in the U.S. will be over 50. I want to be able to share real stories and information to educate both medical providers and case managers, social workers, etc., about the real issues that we deal with as we grow older with HIV.

Please take 10 minutes to fill out this survey!

If you have any issues or concerns that are not in the questionnaire, please feel free to contact me! And please feel free to forward this to your networks. The more responses we get the better the data. I will be sharing the results with all of you.

Thank you!

Having trouble with the survey. Specifically question #16. I'm assuming you want us to describe our concerns, yes? I've done that, but when I try to submit the survey, I keep getting a message on #16 that says, "Please enter a positive number." (Which is actually pretty funny.) Am I doing something wrong?

Aging can be difficult even given the best circumstances....add HIV...thyroid disease...depression...heart attacks...blood clots..and it can get quite overwhelming at times...but I'm a survivor...from way back...
