Introductions Are So Necessary

By Patrick Ingram

August 5, 2013

So I have to say that I am very excited about being a blogger at TheBody.com. I have recently shared works like My Letter to HIV, a video on DC Black Pride, and the story of my initial HIV diagnosis. Blogging is in a sense a therapy for me; however, I love using writing to also benefit, educate, inspire, and most importantly empower those who are HIV negative or positive.

I currently blog on my own website where I talk about a wide variety of things like living with HIV, masculinity vs. femininity, supporting someone who has recently been diagnosed, and my most recent work that I want to share with you that discusses how to date and what to expect from it when you are living with HIV.

I look forward to writing about diverse topics that may interest you; and as always if there is anything you would like for me to talk about or if you need to reach out to me, please do so at pozlifeofpatrick@gmail.com.

Thanks for reading and supporting me!

Patrick Ingram

Patrick is a gay African-American male who is living with HIV. Patrick was diagnosed December 1, 2011 (World AIDS Day). Never the kind of individual to accept defeat, he has worked hard to spread awareness, education, resources and support to his community. By using his blog, his YouTube channel, and working alongside the Northern Virginia Gay Men's Health Collaborative and the Fredericksburg Area HIV AIDS Support Services (FAHASS), Patrick has worked hard to empower youth and people of color to know their HIV status and take steps to continue to care for themselves (positive or negative).
