Charlottesville, Va., Nonprofit Offering Free Hepatitis C Testing

May 16, 2013

The AIDS Services Group (ASG) is now offering free rapid hepatitis C testing at its offices in the Charlottesville, Va., area, becoming one of only two facilities in the state to offer the rapid test. ASG recommends testing for those individuals who are baby boomers, have received donated organs or transfused blood before 1992, ever injected drugs, tested positive for HIV/AIDS, have multiple sex partners or have an STD, or if they have received tattoos or body piercings from unlicensed facilities. Testing is available by appointment, which can be made by calling the offices at (434) 981–2118 or filling out a form on the ASG Web site at www.asgva.org/programs-and-services/hiv-testing/. ASG offices are located in Charlottesville at 925 Jefferson Street.
