On May 1, the Philippines Department of Health said that the 370 new cases of HIV or AIDS reported in March had brought the country's tally of cases recorded in the first quarter of 2013 to 1,089. The March 2013 report indicated that 85 percent of the new cases involved male-to-male sex, and 55 percent were within the 20–29 age group.
