On February 7, more than 300 students attended the annual arts competition held in honor of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day at the Gainesville Job Corps Center in Gainesville, Fla. Students spread messages of prevention and awareness through dancing, poems, visual arts, and songs at the event, which was sponsored by Black AIDS Services and Education. Students' visual and performance arts submissions were inspired by the event's themes of prevention and awareness as they competed to win awards of $200 for first place and $100 for second place in each of the categories. The event finished up with an evening panel discussion entitled "When Should You Not Wear a Condom?"
