Medical News Texas Biomed Files Patent Application for Novel HIV VaccineNovember 20, 2012 The Texas Biomedical Research Institute (Texas Biomed) has applied for a patent for a genetically-engineered vaccine for HIV prevention. The vaccine is designed to be administered in a single dose that will last the patient a lifetime. It targets the outer layers of the body structures that first come into contact with the virus.
