Minnesota: Oles Raise HIV/AIDS Awareness Through the Arts

October 31, 2012

A group of students from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., called "Oles Face AIDS," has created a multimedia-layered performance that combines poetry, acting, and film to depict contemporary issues pertaining to childhood HIV/AIDS in Rwanda. In their presentation, Oles Face AIDS will bring conversations to life and contextualize the struggle of childhood HIV/AIDS in Rwanda through a multimedia-layered performance. "We want to put a real face to the struggle, and we believe that the best way to do that is through the arts." Clara Johnson of Oles Face AIDS said. The Oles Face AIDS event, called "34 Million Voices: Dessert and the Arts," takes place at 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 2, at the Lion's Pause at Buntrock Commons at St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minn. Tickets are $7 at the door, which includes dessert. All proceeds go to Face AIDS.
