Illinois Lottery Revamps Ticket Aiding AIDS Prevention

August 10, 2012

The Illinois Lottery and the Department of Public Health are bringing back the "Red Ribbon Cash" instant-game ticket, which raises money for HIV/AIDS prevention. Introduced in 2008, the game has raised $4 million for grants to private and public organizations that serve residents at risk for the disease. It is the only game of its type in the nation. The relaunched ticket, which is expected to raise $1 million, was introduced Tuesday at Chicago's Gene Siskel Film Center, where a 15-minute film updated viewers on the status of the AIDS epidemic in Illinois.
