The Latino Commission on AIDS Mourns the Passing of Lupe Ontiveros

New York -- The Latino Commission on AIDS mourns the passing of its supporter and friend, actor Lupe Ontiveros, a tireless advocate for Latino/Hispanic health and social issues. Through her work, she brought light to the many challenges faced by the Latino community and she will be dearly remembered for her constant support of different initiatives aimed to promote HIV testing and health services. For over a decade, Lupe Ontiveros was actively engaged with the Latino Commission on AIDS to promote the annual benefit gala Cielo Latino, the National Latino AIDS Awareness Day and many other important education campaigns.

As we at the Latino Commission on AIDS mourn her passing, we also remember her dearly and gratefully for her selfless and tireless support of so many important causes, as well as for her beautiful charisma.
