International News HIV Prevention, Care Program to Be Expanded in South AfricaJuly 6, 2012 A project that provides HIV prevention and care services to farm workers in South Africa will be expanded, International Organization for Migration spokesperson Jumbe Omari Jumbe recently announced. IOM and the US Agency for International Development will spend $7.1 million to scale up the Ripfumelo project through 2016. Under the work, more migrant farm workers will be reached by HIV and TB prevention, counseling and testing outreach. Ripfumelo, or "believe" in the Tsonga language, has helped more than 20,000 migrants since it began in South Africa's Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces in 2009.
