A Day in the Life Video Series: Two Longtime HIV Survivors Share Love and SupportJune 19, 2012 Keeping up with HIV meds often means having to weave daily doses into a busy life. How do other HIVers do it? In each episode of this video series, we'll take a peek into the day-to-day routine of a person who's living with HIV, taking HIV meds, and dealing with situations that get in the way of adherence. Watch other videos in the series. Episode 7: Petra Berrios and Efrain Carrasquillo Ages: 51 and 48 Home: Bronx, N.Y. Diagnosed: 1986 and 1990 "There's days that she's my rock," says Efrain Carrasquillo of his wife, Petra Berrios. She says the same about him; the couple met in 2004 and married soon after. Like anyone living with HIV, both have days when they're sick of taking HIV meds. They share tips they use to get through rough patches. Filmed by Olivia Ford and produced by Mark S. King. Fri., Aug. 3, 2012 at 5:49 pm EDT Great video! Thanks for sharing your story. I live in the Bronx and would like to use and recommend to others, a pharmacy run by someone with HIV experience in our area. Couldn't catch the name of the pharmacy. What was it please? Replies to this comment:

Thu., Jun. 21, 2012 at 7:21 pm EDT I know this wonderful and brave couple personally and professionally. I commend them for opening their home and lives to us and telling us "We are not alone". I'm HIV+ since 1990 so I can relate to being a long term survivor and taking meds daily and not wanting to answer phone calls, doors and emails. Being a Peer Educator is a wonderful experience teaching and learning how others live and deal with this virus on a daily basis. Thank you Petra and Efrain for many reasons. Thank you for letting us know there is love after HIV/AIDS. And thank you both for helping me in my times of need!! We could not have asked for a better example of two people who represent passion, dedication and love! Blessings and Love, Pat Shelton

Thu., Jun. 21, 2012 at 1:10 am EDT Although I don't take HIV meds I take numerous medications ranging from hypertension diabetes and schizophrenia. It can really be a chore sometimes but I can empathize with those who have a busy schedule and have to take their HIV medicine.
