South Carolina: May 19 Is National Hepatitis Testing Day

Saturday is National Hepatitis Testing Day, and health authorities in South Carolina are emphasizing the importance of being tested for the disease. "Our community partners will offer more hepatitis C virus testing this summer through new rapid testing technologies," said Janet Tapp, director of the STD/HIV division at the state Department of Health and Environmental Control. "We're working with our partners to help diagnose those who are infected with hepatitis B or C but may be unaware of their infection."
