Hospital Opens Hepatitis C CenterMay 15, 2012 The Jefferson Hepatitis C Center -- a multidisciplinary, comprehensive facility for the study of hepatitis C virus and hepatic disease -- now is open at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Jefferson houses the Philadelphia area's longest continuously active program for liver transplantation. According to CDC, an estimated 3.2 million Americans have chronic hepatitis C virus infection.
