Shannon was diagnosed with HIV in 1992 and had no idea she'd ever been at risk. Her first reactions were shock, anger and depression, but she had to learn how to cope, for her own sake and for her family's. These days, Shannon is an expert at TheBody.com's "Ask the Experts" Forum on Safe Sex and HIV Prevention. Since this video was filmed, she's also gotten married to an HIV-negative man, and she has two stepsons. She shares her story and offers advice for newly diagnosed people, as well as for families and friends of people living with HIV. This article was provided by The Positive Project.
