A Poem by Rob

April 2012

Rob from Chicago, age 37. I tested positive six months ago and wrote this shortly after diagnosis. This was difficult to write especially since I could not even say, "I am HIV positive."

I Am Positive

I know where I came from. I know I can't go back.
I am positive.

I don't know where I'm at.
I am positive.

I don't know where I'll be.
I am positive.

I don't know how I'll get there.
I am positive.

I know I will survive.
I am positive.

I know I will thrive.
I am positive.
