U.S. News California: Law Requiring Condoms on Porn Shoots Takes Effect MondayMarch 5, 2012 The Los Angeles City Council's ordinance requiring porn actors to wear condoms during filming takes effect Monday. The Los Angeles-based AIDS Healthcare Foundation has advocated such a measure for years; the council approved it in January. "This is definitely a milestone in this long battle for safety in adult films, but we still have a long way to go," said Michael Weinstein, president of AHF. The organization continues to collect signatures to support a similar measure covering the whole county. City officials are continuing to work through the details of how the law will be implemented.
