Oklahoma Health Department Targets Blacks for AIDS Effort

In recognition of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on Feb. 7, the Oklahoma State Department of Health is spotlighting the epidemic's impact on the black community and urging people to be tested for the virus. Department figures show the rate of new HIV/AIDS cases among blacks in the state is nearly five times that of other racial or ethnic groups. Free, confidential HIV testing will be available on Feb. 7 in Tulsa and at sites across the state.
