U.S. News Illinois: Chicago Gets $1 Million for HIV Testing and TreatmentJanuary 30, 2012 The federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration is awarding Chicago almost $1 million to add routine HIV testing and counseling to the services offered by community mental health and substance abuse centers. The Chicago Department of Public Health announced the grants on Sunday. The new money follows $500,000 in city funds allocated to increase psychiatric services offered by community mental health centers.
