Iris House Announces the Passing of a Longtime StafferJanuary 3, 2012
Ingrid Floyd, Executive Director of Iris House: A Center for Women Living with HIV, deeply regrets to inform you of the passing of Pablo Colon on Friday, December 30 at the age of 49. Pablo was a passionate warrior in the battle against HIV and AIDS and member of the Iris House outreach and prevention team since early 2007. "He was beyond dedicated to our mission and compassionate about every person with whom he worked," said Ms. Floyd, reflecting with the Iris House staff this morning. "Pablo is truly irreplaceable, and will be deeply missed by the Iris House family and the entire New York City HIV Service community." Staff members from across the agency's locations and departments spoke emotionally of his passion, his sense of humor, his ability to teach and mentor, his role as a caregiver and of his ceaseless commitment to getting the job done, no matter what it took. The Iris House staff and board extend our deepest condolences to Pablo's family, especially his longtime partner Tito and his son Willow. This article was provided by Iris House.
