Illinois Ranks 7th in HIV/AIDS Cases

Illinois ranks seventh in the United States for reported AIDS cases, according to the state Department of Public Health. Department officials said the state has seen 38,265 AIDS cases since 1981; nearly 21,000 of those people have died; and blacks comprise 50 percent of AIDS diagnoses.
