New York: Lending a Hand at Aid for AIDS

November 10, 2011

Robert Duffy, longtime business partner of fashion designer Marc Jacobs, was honored for his contributions to Aid for AIDS at a gala Tuesday night in Manhattan. "Our relationship has been very long," Jacobs said of Duffy. "He taught me that it's not important [to] blow your own horn and talk about how charitable you are." Jacobs went on to stress the importance of undergoing HIV testing regularly: "You don't feel shame or fear about getting a flu shot. You shouldn't feel shame or fear about an HIV test." Other attendees included former first lady of Colombia Lina Moreno de Uribe and actress Winona Ryder.
