Smithsonian AIDS at 30 Exhibit

Marking the 30th anniversary of the first reported cases, the exhibit "HIV and AIDS 30 Years Ago" continues on view at the National Museum of American History in Washington. Photographs, magazine covers, lab equipment, and government reports are included in the display, while the museum's Archives Center presents posters from AIDS-related movies, other cultural materials and oral histories from those affected by the disease. "This display will help visitors understand the scientific mystery, the public health crisis and the political debates created by the epidemic, and why these events gripped America 30 years ago," said Brent D.
