Keep on Pushin'By Richard Cordova III October 25, 2011 I've been absent from the blogging scene for awhile now. Three months ago my excuse was that I was busy with work. Now that work has slowed down I don't really have an excuse. I suppose it's fear. I know that my blog is called Positive Indeed, but sometimes I just don't feel so positive. The fact of the matter is that while I am grateful for the things in my life, I am currently in a position where I am not getting something that I want. This thing that I want, also happens to be something that I think I deserve. Has that happened to you? Such is life though. Be that as it may, this situation is really affecting my motivation and I know that it shouldn't, but it is. So the real crux of my problem is, how do I change my attitude about this situation so that I don't feel so bad about it. What I am finding is helpful is staying focused on the parts of the situation that I do like. It's a struggle to stay focused on them but the more that I do, the easier it is becoming. It's one day at a time on this end. Unfortunately, being in this head space just isn't as productive as when you're in "the zone". Have you ever been in a situation where things just felt right? Things seemed to flow like water? It feels good when it's like that! Getting back into the zone for me is more than just accepting what is. For me it's about figuring out what my next moves are, even if it takes me in a completely opposite direction of where I was headed. It's the challenges in our lives that offer us the most room for change and growth. This is going to be a short entry but I will say that if you aren't happy with something in your life, change it. If you don't want to change it, then find ways to be happy with things the way that they are. Even in less than ideal situations it's possible to find the good parts. You just have to look. For now, I am going to do a little bit of both - seeing what's out there, and finding ways to be happy with what I have. Oh, and by the way, I have been intentionally vague in this post because this involves current people, places, and things. :-) In health, Get e-mail notifications every time Richard's blog is updated.
