International News Health Canada Asks That HIV Home Test Kit Be PulledSeptember 13, 2011 Health Canada has asked Toronto-based Accu-Metrics to stop advertising and selling its HIV home test kits, and the agency is reminding consumers that no such kit has been approved for use in Canada. Accu-Metrics said it will comply and stop selling the Accu-HIV 1& 2 Saliva Test to Canadians via its website. Persons who have used the test are advised to consult their physician to undergo HIV screening via an approved method; a list of community testing sites can be accessed at www.phac-aspc.gc.ca/aids-sida/info/4-eng.php#find.
