What if Your Food Server Was HIV Positive?By Justin B. Terry-Smith September 6, 2011
On April 8, 2011, the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) and Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis hosted a national Roundtable on HIV and Employment at which I was honored to testify. Representatives of the U.S. Department of Justice and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission testified as well. As of 2009, Congress passed legislation that specifically included HIV/AIDS in the protections of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) that prohibits against discrimination in hiring or employment. If you have problems, you have rights and can get help. Thank you Mark Fischer for the information. Get e-mail notifications every time Justin's blog is updated.

Thu., Nov. 17, 2011 at 9:59 pm EST Interesting video...I recognize all the places in DC, mostly around Dupont Circle. I'm glad to see everyone interviewed is so accepting of having an HIV+ food server. But I think we all know you'd get VERY different responses in a less-cosmopolitan area--unfortunately, still in 2011.

Wed., Nov. 16, 2011 at 5:24 pm EST It would have been great to hear folks reactions. Not sure why you put it up if the main reason was for us to hear what people thought. See if you can fix the audio.
