International News Canada: Sex Health Clinic to Open in BarrhavenSeptember 8, 2011 A new sexual health clinic is opening today in Barrhaven, part of Ottawa's response to an upward trend in STDs. Chlamydia and HIV are becoming more common in Ottawa, the health department has warned. While the number of syphilis cases in the first half of the year fell to 54 from 77 for the same period in 2010, the city used to see fewer than five cases a year. The new clinic is in the South Nepean Community Center on Strandherd Drive, a good distance from the city's main clinic on Clarence Street in the ByWard Market.
