U.S. News California: Help for People Living With HIV/AIDSSeptember 2, 2011 Though 12 percent of San Bernardino County adults have no health insurance, "a lack of insurance should not prohibit persons from seeking qualified medical care and treatment for HIV," said Health Officer Dr. Maxwell Ohikhuare. "The Department of Public Health HIV clinics provide one such resource for persons who do not have insurance. The county's HIV clinics offer clients a qualified team of HIV providers with experience serving persons living with HIV/AIDS." The county's Partner Services outreach offers support -- in the form of prevention education, risk reduction, and HIV testing and counseling -- for the partners of those living with HIV/AIDS.
