Florida: AIDS Drug Assistance Program Waiting List Still Growing Steadily
August 29, 2011
So far this August, Florida's AIDS Drug Assistance Program has added another 110 people to its waiting list, which remains the longest in the United States. The 3,861 Floridians on the list as of Aug. 18 represent 42 percent of all U.S. residents waiting for help from state ADAPs, according to the National Alliance of State & Territorial AIDS Directors. The total number of Americans on ADAP waiting lists dropped slightly, from 9,217 on Aug. 11 to 9,201. Twelve states have ADAP waiting lists.
