This November marks the 20th anniversary of when basketball great Earvin "Magic" Johnson told the world that he is HIV positive. To commemorate Johnson's public disclosure, Los Angeles Times columnist Bill Plaschke sat down with Johnson at Loyola Marymount University to talk about Johnson's Los Angeles Lakers legacy, how he grappled with his diagnosis and his regrets. For stigmatizing, for not declaring (like majic), for not being faithful, for not using the rubber (which by the way, doesn't rob us of the orgasms). Talking of Majic, He was mentioned in this 'Memoirs of a Genie' book I got off amazon, written by HIV (if that is possible, it's plausible), the book was pure majic for me. Hearing HIV itself advocate about retiring from a life of serial and parallel assasinations gave even us subSaharan Africans hope. And hey, like Majic J. we gone make it 20 years and beyond.
